  2. Summer Overview • ECC Summer Academy • Elementary Summer Academy • Middle School Illuminations • MRH/Brentwood High Schools • Collaborative Summer Session • Early Nature Explorers • Spanish • Blooming in the Garden

  3. ECC Summer Academy • increased from three to four hours last year. • focus on literacy & math • maximum 10 students per room • departmentalized • reading specialist

  4. Elementary Summer Academy • four hours daily for three weeks • focus on literacy & math with music enrichment component • maximum 20 students per grade level, 10 students per room • departmentalized

  5. Middle School Summer Academy • four hours daily for three weeks • classes offered: language arts, math, and garden integration • enrollment of 40 students • placement based on grade level, areas of concern or behavior • curriculum designed based on students needs and skills needed for following school year

  6. MRH/Brentwood High Schools Collaborative Summer Session • hosted by MRH • earn .5 credit • classes offered: Algebra I & 2 Geometry PhysicsBiology Chemistry World History English 1 (9th and 10th) Contemporary History English 2 (11th) PE/Health Personal FinanceDrivers Education • each class needs a minimum of 8 • we pay based on percentage of enrollment

  7. Nature Explorers • four week long, 2.5 hour program • maximum 15 students per sessions • hosted at Litzenger Road Ecology Center • extend scientific concepts developed through curriculum • fee of $40.00 per student ( fee was increased last year)

  8. Abra-Kid-Abra MRHE is hosting the programs Abra-Kid-Abra is supporting all other aspects of program three week long programs offered on full-day and two half day fee $95 or $165 based of length of program

  9. Blooming in the Garden three week, four hours daily extend science concepts of plants and soil learned in the classroom into a real life setting develop a deeper understanding of gardens to support work the following school year maximum of 30 students fee $80 ( fee for 2009 was $60)

  10. Elementary Spanish two weeks , 3 hours daily extend science concepts of plants and soil learned in the classroom into a real life setting develop a deeper understanding of gardens to support work the following school year maximum of 20 students fee $60
