  2. Onomatopoeia The use of a word to describe or imitate a natural sound or the sound made by an object or an action. Example: sizzle

  3. Onomatopoeia Sometimes things are named from the sounds they make. for example, there is the universal fastener which is named for the sound it makes. Zipper

  4. Onomatopoeia Many birds are named after their calls, such as the killdeer, chickadee, the cuckoo. Killdeer Chickadee cuckoo
