  1. BASIC NET ofNETWORK COMPUTER For VIII Grade By. Dzuryat N

  2. DEFINITION OF A COMPUTER NETWORK • A computer network is a collection of two or more computers connected to each other that allows resource sharing and data communication directly.

  3. THE KINDS of NETWORK COMPUTER • There are varios types of network based on several criteria. • Based on the access and data processing • Based on the area range • Based on the connection method • Based on the topology

  4. Base on the access and data processing • Computer network can be divided into : • Client server network • Peer to peer network

  5. Based on the area range, • network can be divided : • LAN (Local Area Network) • MAN (Metropolitan Area Network) • WAN (Wide Area Network)

  6. Based on The Connection Method • Network can be divided into ; • Wired/ wireline network • Wireless network

  7. Based on the Topology • There are some network topologies : • Bus Topology • Star Topology • Mesh Topology • Ring Topology • Hybrid Topology

  8. Computer Network Protocol • Network protocol is a rule that regulates communication between several computers in a network. • Examples : • Ethernet/ TCP IP • Apple Talk • Token Ring • FDDI (Fiber Distributed Data Interface) • ATM (Asynchronous Transfer Mode)

  9. FOR DISCUSSION • SEARCH THE FIGURES OF THE NETWORK TOPOLOGY : • T.BUS • T.STAR • T. MESH • T. RING • T. HYBRID • DESCRIBE OF LAN, MAN and WAN • THE KINDS OF CABLE THAT USED IN NETWORK • UTP • STP • Fiber Optik • Connector • SEARCH THE BENEFITS AND NEGATIF IMPACTS OF NETWORK COMPUTER

  10. The negative impact of network computer • High Cost • Human Error (Administrator Error) • Viruses • Useless file sharing

  11. Topology Network Computer • T.Bus • T.Star

  12. T.Mesh • T.Ring

  13. T.Hybrid

  14. LAN is a computer network that connects computers and devices in a limited geographical area such as home, school, computer laboratory or office building. • MAN is a large computer network that usually spans a city or a large campus. A MAN usually interconnects a number of local area networks (LANs). • WAN is a computer network that covers a broad area (i.e., any network whose communications links cross metropolitan, regional, or national boundaries

  15. Kinds of Cable Network Computer • UTP • STP • Fiber Optik

  16. The benefits of Computer Network • A network enables the acceleration of data sharing. • A network enables work group to communicate effectively. • A network helps corporation in serving customers effectively.
