  4. Past Simple • Function: An action that ended at a point in the past. • Form: subject + verb + “-ed”/ irregular verb form • Example: Hetraveled yesterday. subject verb + “-ed”

  5. Past Simple Practice! • Remember: subject + verb + “-ed” or irregular ending • She / visit / Australia • We / buy / souvenirs • You / go / museum • I / learn / culture

  7. Past Progressive • Function: An action that was in progress at a particular time in the past. • Form: subject + aux (was/were) + verb + “-ing” • Example: He was traveling yesterday. subject aux verb + “-ing”

  8. Past Progressive Practice! • Remember: subject + aux (was/were) + verb + “-ing” • They / return / home • I / find / directions • He / take / taxi • You / avoid / pickpockets

  10. Past Perfect • Function: An action that happened before another in the past. • Form: subject + aux (had) + past participle • Example: He had traveled yesterday. subject aux past participle
