  7. Introduction : Enterprise Resource Planning is a cross functional enterprise system. It acts as a framework to integrate & automate many of business processes that must be accomplished within manufacturing, accounting, finance, human resource etc of the business. ERP aims at creating a common database across the organization that is used by different function or department within the business organization.

  11. There are many ERP solutions available in the market. Each of these solutions takes about some distinct features, advantages & highlights plus points. Selection of these packages can be made on many criteria 1)Vendor 2) The technology used 3) Architecture used 4) Solution scope ERP Selection :

  13. Vendor Evaluation What is the business strategy & capacity of the vendor. Research & development activities. Philosophy & policies of business.

  14. The Technology Used Two tier or three tier client server architecture used. Used of object oriented technologies in development. Use of case tools ,screen generators, Real time access. Use of operating system.

  15. Requirement : INTERACT Project-in-charge Vendor Carry out in depth study of organization. Requirement is noted down. Changes & modifications: Simple cosmetic change to major functionality change. ERP Implimentation :

Pre-Evaluation Screening Once the company has decided to go for ERP system, The search for the perfect package start Hence the company should do a pre evaluation screening to limit the number of packages. Package Evaluation Since ERP system involves huge investments, once a package is purchased it is not easy task to switch to another. Some important points to be kept in mind include. Functional fit with the company’s business process. Flexibility, scalability, complexity, user friendly.

  20. Project Planning Phase This phase will decide when to begin the project, how to do it & when the project is supposed to be completed. What to do? How to monitor? What correction actions to take? Gap Analysis This is the process through which companies create a complete model of where they are now & in which direction they want to head in the future functional gaps are to be covered in this phase.

  21. Reengineering Human factor is taken into account in this phase. BPR emphasizes the human elements of necessary changes within organization. Configuration In order to do so business processes have to be understood & mapped in such a way that they arrived at solutions match up with the overall goals of the company. Implementation team training This is a phase where the company trains its employees to implement & later run the system.

  22. Testing This is the phase where you try to break the system. The system is configured & you must come up with extreme case scenarios. Going Live The old system is removed & the new system is used for doing business. End User training Here the actual users of the system will be given training on how to use the system.

  23. Post Implementation(Maintenance Mode) This phase is very critical. To reap the full advantages of ERP systems it should get enterprise wide acceptance. Projects for implementing the ERP system get a lot of resources & attention. However an organization can only get the maximum value of these inputs if it successfully adopt & effectively uses the system.

Conclusion From above presentation it is stated that Enterprise Management system helps in each sector of business process: Enterprise is any business activity which is carried out continuously. Management helps the business to have future plans, goal setting for individual as well as for business in near future. The whole Enterprise Resource Planning explain that the all activity which is included in any business which are managed to be a complete system.
