  1. Ambition Austin Gershmel

  2. Vast startup costs with little (if any) initial return is a major obstacle for entrepreneurs and requires a mindset of great ambition to overcome. • Entrepreneurs must plan ahead and be confident that they have the resources, skills, and level of devotion required to make their startup successful. Determination

  3. Market Competition • Competitive markets require that entrepreneurs be ambitious in order to drive their business forward. • In order to compete with established businesses that have the infrastructure to provide goods of high quality for low price, entrepreneurs must necessarily receive little to no initial pay. • Working hours of 80+ weekly for years on end are not unheard of.

  4. Not everyone is born to be an entrepreneur. • Entrepreneurship requires people with a certain class of business values and propensity towards taking risks. • Entrepreneurship is uncommon due to the uncertainty of success and the large amounts of time and funding required. • Hardship and character-building experiences throughout life breed entrepreneurs. Natural Ability

  5. Forward Thinking and Materialistic • Ambitious people are always thinking about the future and their place within it. • Ambitious people are highly materialistic and are never content with what they possess in the present. • Ambitious entrepreneurs always reinvest rather than withdraw funds for leisure.

  6. Competitiveness • Ambition is closely related to competitive behavior. • Competition trumps intellect. A competitive person of average intelligence will, in a business setting, advance farther than an intelligent worker lacking a competitive mindset.
