  1. WHO AM I? Megan Feher EDU214 Information Technology in Teaching, NSC, Dr. Graziano, February 6, Fifth Grade

  2. INTRODUCTION: Are you ready to take a journey around the United States? Get your spy gear ready because you are going to be looking for me, a state. I could be hot or cold, north or south, I could be anywhere. I will leave little hints to give you a better idea of which state I might be. Keep your eyes open because I could be anywhere. Good luck!

  3. TASK: Draw a picture of the state that I am. Label the state capital, second biggest city, what the state is known for, and the state symbol. On the back of the page write a paragraph about any information you have gathered about this state. You must have at least 4 sentences.

  4. PROCESS: Get into teams of two and have a list of the fifty states in front of you. Have a pencil and highlighter to cross of the states that I am not. 3. Here is a link to a map.   6. PROCESS CONT: 6. Some say I’m rebellious because I seceded from the Union along with ten other states. If you’re still struggling to figure me out here’s some things you might not know about me: My fish is the Largemouth Bass. My beverage is milk.   7. PROCESS CONT: 8. With the information you have gathered draw the state and label it, and complete the paragraph. You will have two days to complete this assignment. Accommodations for ELL: They will have a partner whose first language is English. Accommodations for students with disabilities: They will have extra time to complete the assignment.

  8. EVALUATION: Students will get: 50 points: Correct state, neat drawing, clearly labeled, and with full paragraph. 45 points: Correct state, mediocre drawing and paragraph. Correct state, neat drawing, but incomplete paragraph. Neat drawing and full paragraph, but incorrect state. 40 points: Incorrect state and mediocre drawing and paragraph.

  9. CONCLUSION: Congratulations you guys have figured out which state I am. You guys will have learned about the state of Mississippi. Also, you will have learned which other states are touched by 4 different states, which states seceded from the union, and when states joined the union.
