  2. Peru is a country, located in the continent of South America. It happens to be the home of the ancient Inca city of Machu Picchu, and to the famous Amazonian rainforest. The location around Machu Picchu includes the scared valley, the city of Cusco, and the Inca trail that is filled with archaeological sites.
