  3. GSDM Graduation Ceremony Friday, May 19, 2017 • Place: Track and Tennis Center 100 Ashford Street • Time: 2:00 pm Line up for procession 3:00 pm Procession and ceremony Please leave all valuables (i.e. cameras, purses, etc.) with guests.

  4. Commencement Weekend enhanced security procedures are as follows: • BU Police and professional security personnel will monitor all entry points to Commencement and Convocation venues. • All students, faculty, staff, volunteers, guests, and vendors will be subject to screening when entering any Commencement Weekend venue, possibly with a metal-detecting wand or similar devices. • Guests who are not carrying a bag may use an express entrance lane. • Only small and average-size handbags, purses, and camera bags will be allowed (no large totes, over-sized purses, backpacks, large diaper bags, or messenger bags). Bag size is limited to 12″x12″x6″. All bags will be physically inspected prior to entry. • No other bags, gift bags, wrapped gifts, packages, briefcases, backpacks, or luggage will be allowed in a Commencement or Convocation venue, including Nickerson Field. • If guests have packages or bags that are not permitted, they may leave them at a “self-check” area adjacent to the venues. While this area will be monitored by security, the University will not provide a claim check process and will not be responsible for packages left in the self-check area. • Bomb-detection dogs from the Boston Police Department and Massachusetts State Police will sweep specific venues and open areas, including self-check bag storage and checkpoint areas. • Graduates and faculty should carry their robes into event venues and then dress in designated lineup areas. Anyone who sees anything suspicious should immediately contact the BUPD at 617-353-2121.

  5. Commencement Tickets • There are no tickets needed for the ceremony or reception. • You received 10 Commencement Invitations in your packet. • If you need additional tickets, please see Diane Dougherty

  6. Ordering your Cap and Gown • You should of already placed your order with Student Affairs. Forms were to be turned in by March 17, 2017. • You will not be charged for your rented regalia • Credit cards are required to order your regalia in case you do not return it within one week.

  7. Picking up your Cap and Gown • Orders can be picked up at the Barnes and Noble Bookstore beginning on April 24. • Barnes & Noble @ Boston University Bookstore660 Beacon Street (Charles River Campus)Boston,  MA 02215-2066617-267-8484 • All rentals must be returned prior to May 27 to avoid late charges. You will be charged the full price of custom regalia at $750 if you do not return your set.

  9. Graduation Photos • All graduates will get their photo taken as they cross the stage. Senior Awards BrunchSaturday, May 20, 2017 • Place: Fuller Building 808 Commonwealth Ave. Boston, MA • Time: 10:00 a.m. • Brunch will be served from 10 – 11:30 a.m. • The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:30 a.m. • Proper dress required • You must register online for you and your guests: bu.edu/dental/register • 4 tickets allotted to each graduate

  13. Sunday, May 21, 2017 • All University Commencement takes place at Nickerson Field at 1:00 pm • Line up begins at 12:15 pm • Additional information regarding the Nickerson Field ceremony can be found at: www.bu.edu/commencement/2011/
