  5. The Executive Branch and The Constitution The Constitution gives executive powers-to carry out laws-to a President. His assistant is the Vice President. Also assistance comes from his Cabinet group of advisors who help make policy He serves a 4 year term-unlimited originally. Requirements: 35 years old US citizen 14 years Natural Born Citizen-at least one parent citizen

The Executive Branch and The Constitution The Electoral College: voters cast their ballots for electors - each state is granted as many electors as it has Congress people (Senators + Representatives = Electoral Votes) - 12th Amendment: separate ballots for VP and Pres - 20th Amendment: inauguration day is Jan 20th - 23rd Amendment: 3 electoral votes for DC
