  2. Standards • Content • Program

  3. Content Standards • Reviewed ELCC, SAELP, McREL, ISLLC 2008 • Recommend ISLLC 2008 adoption • Strong and comprehensive research base • Function encompass McREL/SAELP, etc. • Additional functions can be added as appropriate under the standards • Internship is not a content standard but is a program standard

  4. Program Standards • Universities must define program standards specifically and in detail. Will be held accountable for these. • Establish a state-wide definition of educational leadership. Institutions’ conceptual framework impacts the actualization of the definition • Curriculum, outcomes, assessments: aligned to the conceptual framework and ISLLC

  5. Program Standards, continued • Learning practices designed to scaffold candidate development as leaders • Dispositions: necessary BUT – how define, measure and use resulting data? • Admission requirements: need some basic requirements set state-wide but these shouldn’t be intrusive • Internship: proof of application and builds on field experiences • Capacity issues: advising, faculty, consistency of program delivery, supervision, etc.
