  1. Drawing Near to God(James 4:7-10) • All would desire to be close to God (Psalm 96:1-5).  • While we are in this world we are not in close proximity to God (Ecclesiastes 5:2). • Disobedience to His word magnifies this separation (Isaiah 59:1,2). 

  2. Drawing Near to God(James 4:7-10) • Because of sin all are separated from God. (Romans 3:23). • Christ’s coming to earth is to give man a way that we may draw near to God. (Hebrews 10:19-22).

  3. Drawing Near to God(James 4:7-10) We Must Draw Near To God... I. “With a True Heart.” A. Not in word only (Matt 15:8). B. Out of the heart are the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).

  4. Drawing Near to God(James 4:7-10) We Must Draw Near To God... II. “In Full Assurance of Faith.” A. Without it we cannot please Him (Hebrews 11:6). B. The Christian lives by faith (Galatians 2:20).

  5. Drawing Near to God(James 4:7-10) We Must Draw Near To God... III. “Having Our Hearts Sprinkled From an Evil Conscience.” A. The conscience alone can’t save (Acts 23:1). B. The conscience can condemn (Romans 14:22).

  6. Drawing Near to God(James 4:7-10) We Must Draw Near To God... IV. “And Our Bodies Washed With Pure Water.” A. Baptism is an appeal for a good conscience. (I Peter 3:20,21). B. In Baptism sin is washed away (Acts 22:16).
