  2. School Rules Wonderful Wolverines will: • Listen and follow directions • Use good manners and self-control • Work and play safely • Keep silent in the halls • Walk in the building

  3. STAAR*Testing Dates April 24-25 Four hours to complete each section (reading, math) We will receive results back next October We know the TEKS that will be addressed but not much more *State of Texas Assessment of Academic Readiness (STARR)

  4. Thinking Maps • We will be using thinking maps this year to help students organize and synthesize materials. • They will be used across the different curriculum. You may see the same maps used in math and Social Studies • There will be fewer worksheets and more work produced by students.

  5. Math • 65-70% is new material • Multiplication and division • fractions

  6. Spelling • 20 words • 2 dictation sentences • No formal homework

  7. Homework • Reading log • Readers theater • Math Unfinished work • Did not finish during class • Makeup for absences

  8. Party Dates • Willow Creek will be having its three student parties on these dates: • December 12,2011 • February 10,2012 • May 25, 2012

  9. KITS • Homework • Notes home • Graded work

  10. Behavior logs • clipboard • Behavior problems • Positive e-mails

  11. Grades • Skyward • * means all points awarded • Check ++ =100 • Check+=95 • Check=85 • Check- =75 • Check--=65

  12. Medicines • All medicines that need to be administered during the day need to go to the school nurse.

  13. Tardies/Absences • School begins at 7:50 and a student is tardy if not here by 8:00. • Please send a note with a student the day after an absence explaining the absence.

  14. E-mail • If you have not yet received an e-mail from me please give me your address.
