What is the Purpose of the CAPT? • To strengthen the capacity of States, Tribes, Jurisdictions and other grantees to implement SAMHSA’s Strategic Prevention Framework (SPF) • To strengthen the knowledge, skills, and expertise of the prevention workforce to implement the SPF and related accountability systems

  8. The Purpose of T/TA • SPF SIGs are expected to meet key milestones for each step of the SPF • CAPT T/TA is designed to help you meet these milestones

  9. The Purpose of T/TA For example: Step 1. Assessment: Complete needs and resource assessment by end of Month 4

  10. T/TA to Meet Step 1 Benchmark • Identify available prevention resources at State, Jurisdiction, and Tribe level • Determine sources of local data and data gaps for local grantees • Synthesize research on particular populations, such as 18-to-24 year-olds, elderly, and returning vets • Orient SEOW to the SPF SIG and to process for prioritizing epi data

  11. Some Effective T/TA Strategies • Prepare SPF SIG staff and Advisory Councils for what’s coming down the pike • Help grantees understand ramifications of their decisions • Facilitate peer-to-peer sharing, across Cohorts • Share materials, tools, and products across States and cohorts

  12. What Methods Do We Use? • Face-to-Face • Phone and E-mails • Moderated Audio Calls • Webinars • Narrated Presentations • Moderated Online Courses • Electronic Mailing Lists, Web Portals

  13. Accessing CAPT Services • Each State, Tribe, and Jurisdiction grantee has access to a CAPT Regional Expert Team • Grantees may access services through CSAP State Project Officer or through RET, directly • All CAPT service requests are approved by CSAP State and CAPT Project Officers

  14. In Summary • The new, integrated CAPT ensures access to quality T/TA services, delivered consistently across RETs • CAPT experience working with past SPF SIG cohorts lets us anticipate your T/TA needs • Services are tailored to meet client needs, as well as funder requirements
