  1. The Online Curriculum Center Introduction

  2. What is the OCC • The Online Curriculum Center features information about all areas of the IB program. There are three main divisions • Diploma Programme (DP) • Middle Years Programme (MYP) • Primary Years Programme (PYP) • Each program has a home page providing general information and news. • Each program has individual curriculum pages.

  3. General info • Where is Econ listed? • Economics is listed under The Diploma program as follows: On the top menu: OCC home>DP home> Individuals and Societies>Economics • What’s on the OCC? • IBO publications –to view or download • The Economics Forum • Ask questions about anything you need to know and get answers from other teachers as well as Manuel Fernandez • View and participate in discussions about areas of interest • Access resources and teaching ideas that other teachers have posted and post your own ideas and resources.

What do you need to access the site? • You need the following: • Your school code • a user name • a password • Your School IB coordinator will provide you with your username and password. • Parts of the site require the following software: • Adobe Acrobat Reader • Macromedia Flash • Macromedia Shockwave • WinZip

  5. Registration • When you log in for the first time, you will be asked to fill-in some information. • Name, Email address, job description, language preferences, and years teaching IB

IBO Publications • On the Economics home page you could access the following : • Detailed syllabus outline • IA guidelines, criteria and sample portfolios • Extended Essay guidelines and samples • Specimen for examination papers • Subject reports for various examination sessions • An Overview of the current developments in the Econ Syllabus as well as a questionnaire to get your feedback • And much more

The Economics Forum • On the LHS of the economics home page you will find an entry called ‘forum’ • If you have a specific question, you could post it and wait for an answer • However, you could always start by searching for a keyword. Chances are, you will find that your question has been addressed in the past • You may also search for general areas of interest and follow the various threads you find

OCC Resources • On the LHS navigation menu, you will find an entry called ‘view resources’ • These are resources recommended by other IB teachers. • You will also find that the resources are rated. You may also rate the resources and teaching ideas that you find on this link • This link allows you to view and download existing resources as well as add your own
