Ylöjärvi • Ylöjärvi has established in the year 1869. • Ylöjärvi became a town in year 2004. • Ylöjärvi with its 26000 inhabitants is lacated in the northern part of the country Pirkanmaa, on the western side of the lake Näsijärvi, in the neighbourhood of Tampere Ikaalinen, Nokia , Hämeenkyrö and Kuru • The area of Ylöjärvi is about 500 km2 • Ylöjärvi is 189 km from Helsinki , capital of Finland

  3. The history of Vanha koulu • Vanha koulu (old school in english) Is Ylöjärvi`s oldest school It has been built in year 1888. First it was only school in Ylöjärvi and there were 80 pupils In the picture above there is school building in right, garage in the middle and teachers house left. Picture down is taken in year 2006 Teachers house is nowadays our canteen, the garage has worked off Today Old School is special school for pupils who has difficulties of learning

Vanha koulu today • Vanha koulu is a special school for pupils who has difficulties of learning • We have pupils in each level from class one to nine. • Almost every student has a diagnose of disease ; dysfasia, autism • We have five classes; each class can take 10 pupils, but today we have 41 pupils Vanhan koulun classes: 1.-2.-luokka Mari Virtanen , pupils 6 2.-4.-luokka Ritva Willman, pupils 4 3.-5.-luokat Kaisa Valtanen, pupils 9 6.-7.-luokka Kalle Rajala, pupils 11 7.-9.-luokka Petri Huutoniemi, pupils 11 _________________________________________ total 41 pupils (11.8.2008)

What we are doing in Vanha koulu • Because our pupils have different kind of troubles of learning, we try to do a lot of work with hands and have a lot of experiences • In our school we do ordinary schoolwork reading, writing, playing, calculating and so on • Following pictures shows what we have done in last years:
