Regional Process • For facilitating the organization of the Forum, the world has been divided into the following five regions: • Europe Asia-Pacific • Americas Middle-East • Africa • Regional Committees have been set up in each of the regions. Several meetings are being held to identify local actions that have been implemented. • Each committee is preparing a document with the main water issues in the region to be considered as an input for the Ministerial Declaration.

16. Ministerial Conference The Ministerial Conference will focus on ways to implement the MDG’s and policies approved by the UN Commission on Sustainable Development Regional contributions will be considered for a Ministerial Declaration There will be a multistakeholder dialogue with thematic round tables.

17. Financing Water For All Special Panels Task force composed of high level personalities to follow up the report “Financing Water for all”, compiled by the World Panel on Financing Water Infrastructure of the Third World Water Forum. The group is led by Angel Gurría, Former Finance Minister of Mexico. Empowerment and Democratization Work group integrated by well known international and national experts in order to elaborate a technical paper for development of social capacities to face issues related with water.

Water Learnig Center The Learning Center is an opportunity for stakeholders to participate in workshops organized with experts that will attend the Forum This center will have speakers from the Smithsonian Center , U.S Army Corps Engineers and the Mexican Training Center for Water and Sanitation. The workshops will be parallel activities during the Forum

19. Other activities First International “Water and Film” Event Will be held during the Forum in Mexico and is organized by the Secretariat of the 4WWF, UNESCO, CONACULTA, WC and the International Secretariat for Water.

Typical session There will be 150 two-hour sessions divided into five parts: Opening remarks from convener(s) (5 minutes) Presentation of local actions (45 minutes) Expert panel to discuss the local actions presented (30 minutes) Open discussion amongst participants (30 minutes) Wrap-up and conclusions (10 minutes)

24. Topic Sessions Sessions are one of the most important tools to make the Forum attractive, purposeful and successful. Europe: 15 sessions Middle East: 20 sessions Asia Pacific: 50 sessions Americas: 136 sessions Africa: 36 sessions At the deadline for registering interest in organizing a session 580 sessions had been registered. The 4th World Water Forum Secretariat will select sessions in a meeting with Beacons and Regional Coordinators in November

25. Local Actions Any activities related to water that have been implemented and have had favorable impact at the local level in water management. It doesn't refer only to experiences in small scale. It is necessary to register them on the website of the Forum www.worldwaterforum4.org.mx
