  4. Adverbs describe WHEN an action happens… • We are going to the ballpark today. • Tomorrow the Rangers play the Yankees. • They could win the World Series soon.

  5. Adverbs describe WHERE an action happens… • He put the paper here. • You must turn your homework in over there. • When she finished, she put the book down.

  6. Adverbs show TO WHAT EXTENT… • They were extremely happy. • The team celebrated for a very long time. • The game was really fun to watch.
