3. Chouvishi Pratishtha Committee (CPC) • Near the end of February, the JSGC Board of Trustees formed the Chouvishi Pratishtha Committee (CPC) to plan and conduct the upcoming chouvishi pratishtha in our Bhamati in July 2012. • Committee members are: • Kushal Baid - Chairperson • Nipa Turakhia – Secretary • Kalpesh Shah • Meena Jain • Minesh Shah • Nalini Shah • Shanti Jain • This presentation is being made on behalf of CPC and BoT to inform the community of the plans for the event and to seek approval for the proposed budget and funding options.

Preamble • The program • It is a Pratistha – needs to be performed with appropriate vidhis. • CPC working hard to accomplish it in about 3-1/2 days. • Many more nakras rather than Bolis. • Nakras are also more modest than at the 2010 pratishtha. • Many more privileges to be given with Bolis and pratishtha nakras to encourage participation. • Looking forward to enthusiastic community response. • Vidhikars • Bhattarak Shri Charukeertiji • Narendra Nandu Team, Naresh Shah

5. Our Bhamati • Relatively unique: • Six pratimajis in color • Shri Padmaprabh Swami and Shri Vasupujaya Swami – pinkish red • Shri Mallinath Bhagwan and Shri Parshwanath Bhagwan – Green • Shri Munisuvrat Swami and Shri Neminath Bhagwan – Black • Remaining pratimajis - white

11. A few points of information • Bolis for pratishtha of only six tirthankars - Rishabhdev, Shantinath, Neminath, Parshwanath, Mahavir Swami and Simandhar Swami. • Of the remaining 19, one will be by draw and the other 18 will have nakras. We will draw the name of the tirthankar whose pratishtha will be given by draw today. The draw for the family to perform pratishtha will be done on the evening of Friday, July 13th. • We will be performing bolis for Sanghpati and for pratishtha of the six tirthankars mentioned above on Sunday, May 6th, 2012. • The nakra/boli list, whom to call etc will be announced about the end of May. Nakras will be awarded on a first come first basis. • Lodging arrangements are being made at nearby hotels at discounted rates. Meals and parking facilities will be at Day’s Inn. Bus transportation will be available between the hotels to Jain Center. • Various teams such as for Aamantran Patrika, Souvenir, Nakra/Boli, Logistics, Finance, Decorations for the floats in the procession and at the Jain Center etc are in place.

12. A few points of information (Contd.) • Kalpesh Shah is leading the Souvenir Ads team. The cost of the Ads has been kept at half of the level at the 2010 pratishtha. $500/full page, $250/half page. Contact him if we wish to purchase an ad or have contacts that may be good leads for his team. • As last time we will need many volunteers to make the event a success. Please contact the JSGC Trustees directly or via the JSGC website to indicate your interest.

14. Pre-Pratishtha Mahotsav program • A Shatrunjay poojan program will be held on Sunday, May 6, 2012 • Led by NayanbhaiSanghvi from Tapovan, India. • There are 10 poojans, of which one is 27 abhisheks. We will have 12 nakras, one each for nine poojans and one for nine abhisheks each. There will be bolis for Aartis, Mangal Divo and Shanti kalash. • Along with the Shatrunjay poojan we will conduct bolis for Sanghpati, and pratishtha of six Tirthankars mentioned earlier. • More details will be forthcoming in about 10 days.

15. Labhs (privileges) for Sanghpati • Aamantaran Patrika sent out in their name jointly with the name of the Sangh • Join other dignitaries in lighting the ceremonial lamp during opening ceremony • Ride in a vehicle near the front of the procession (varghodo) • VIP seating (up to 8 people) during all vidhis, poojas and cultural events during the Pratishtha Mahotsav • Given 3 abhisheks (6th – 8th) of Dharmanath Bhagwan and Mahavir Swami Bhagwan during 18 abhishek pooja (OR corresponding abhisheks of Rushabhnath Bhagwan) • A complimentary page in the Souvenir Up to two families can join to take Sanghpati Boli

16. Labhs (Benefits) with pratishtha Boli/Nakra • Accompany Pratimaji during Varghodo • Ponkhna/Pravesh Vidhi (Max 4 people allowed) • All 18 Abhisheks during the 18 Abhishek vidhi (and corresponding Abhisheks during Digamber vidhi). (max 2 people allowed- can exchange) • Pratishtha (max -4 people allowed) • Pratham Pooja (max 2 people allowed)

19. Funding Options • CPC and BoT looked at the various funding options available. The most suitable options at this stage are: • Seek interest free loans from the community • Borrow from Dev Dravya and payback with interest • See if sufficient funds can be set aside from sadharan funds to manage the cash flow of pratishtha expenses without impacting the day to day operation of the Jain Center. • Examined the third option in some detail – as it would be the simplest.

20. Funding Options (Contd.) • Current status of JSGC Sadharan Account as of 3/31/12 per Nemi Jain – Treasurer, JSGC. • JCA Maintenance - $65,558.00 • JCA Sadharan - $31,049.95 • Sub –Total - $96,607.95 • Scholar Fund - $ 1,091.94 • JivDaya Fund - $ 7,763.25 • Overall Sadharan Fund - $ 66,484.52 • Sub – Total - $ 75,339.71 • Grand – Total - $171,947.66 • The Operations expenses from 1/1/11 to 3/31/12 (15 months) were $ 71, 285.04 (OR ~ $5,000.00/month) • Based on the above, CPC and BoT recommend that we set aside $100K from the sadharan account to manage the expenses/cash flow for the Chouvishi Pratishtha. In addition, we would set aside $25K from Dev Dravya to pay for Dev Dravya expenses. If additional monies are needed, they would be borrowed from Dev Dravya to be paid back with interest.

22. Resolution • It is resolved that the CPC and the BoT are authorized to spend up to $165.0K towards conducting the Chouvishi Pratishtha. • It is resolved that the Funding option of setting aside $100K from the Sadharan account and $25K from Dev Dravya Account is approved. Further, borrowing of any additional funds needed from Dev Dravya account to be paid back with interest is also approved.
