Download SATAID software • Click SATAID Application-> Download in the menu http://www.wis-jma.go.jp/cms/sataid/app/download/ • Click gmslpd.tar on the Download page and decompress the file. http://www.wis-jma.go.jp/sataid/GMSLPD/gmslpd.tar 1. Click this in the menu 2. Click file link to gmslpd.tar 3. Decompress the file

  3. 2. Install SATAID software • Double-click GSETUP.EXE that installs the SATAID software • Press Exec Button if the directory for SATAID installation is acceptable 3. Press Yes to make directory 2. Press Exec if the directory is acceptable 1. Double-click 4. PressOK This directory for SATAID installed

  4. 3. Start SATAID software • SATAID is started by either of the following • Double-click Gmslpw.exe on Windows desktop • Start from the Windows start menu • start -> Programs -> GMS TC analysis-> TC analysis Gmslpd 2. Start from Windows menu 1. Double-click or

  5. 4-1. Download SATAID data • Access SATAID Service page at http://www.wis-jma.go.jp/cms/sataid/ • Select data area from menu bar and click area name. 1. Select area and click area name from menu bar

  6. 4-2. Download SATAID data • Each data kind is displayed in rows • Satellite (IR1, IR2, IR4, WV, VIS) • NWP --- • Observation data (SYNOP, METAR, SHIP, TEMP A,/B, ASCAT) • Arranged in order of time (Upper is the latest) Latest

Download SATAID data • File name is decided as follows: • Satellite file name: XXYYYYMMDD.Zhhmm XX=IR: IR1, I2: IR2, I4: IR4, WV: Water Vapor, VS: Visible • NWP file name: XXYYMMDD.Zhh XX=GS: GSM (Global Spectrum Model) • Observation file name (SYNOP, SHIP, TEMP A/B): XX_YYYYMMDDhh.TXT XX=SY: SYNOP, SH: SHIP, UA: TEMP A, UB: TEMP B • Observation file name (METAR): METARYYYYMMDDhh.TXT • Observation file name (ASCAT): WINXMMDD.TXT • Note: Each part represents parameter as follows: • XX: type of data; YYYY: year; MM: month; DD: day; hh: hour; mm: minute;

Display data by SATAID • Select downloaded SATAID data which you want to display by Ctrl key + Left Click • Drag these files and drop on SATAID software • Satellite image will be displayed [Notice] To display the satellite image and the NWP products together 1. Select data to display 3. Drop on SATAID 2. Drag these files

  9. 5-2. Display the NWP products • Check the NWP box to show NWP data • Press the GSM radio button • Check level and elements • Press the Exec button 1. Check the NWP box 2. Press the GSM radio button 4. Press the Exec button 3. Check the box for level and elements
