  1. Bell Ringer Your Task: In your own words, explain what this poem means to you. Nothing Gold Can Stay By Robert Frost Nature's first green is gold, Her hardest hue to hold. Her early leaf's a flower; But only so an hour. Then leaf subsides to leaf. So Eden sank to grief, So dawn goes down to day. Nothing gold can stay. Hints: hue = color grief = sadness subsides = sinks

  2. Clock partners • Write your NAME at the top!!!!! • When the teacher says a time (“3 o’clock!”) find a partner for that time. • Swap papers with that person. You write your name at 3 o’clock on your partner’s paper. Your partner writes his/her name at 3 o’clock on your paper. • Then find another partner for the next time. • **you cannot have the same partner for more than one time** • **keep in the very front of your notebook**

  3. Vocabulary Your Task: Copy each vocabulary word into the “vocabulary word” column of your vocabulary handout.
