  3. Leviticus 10:11 – To teach the children of Israel all the commandments that God had given through Moses Psalm 51:2 – A sinner is dirty and must be cleansed. David prayed, “Wash me thoroughly from mine iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.”

  4. 1 John 1:9 – “If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.” Leviticus 16:20-22 – On the Day of Atonement a priest would put his hands on the head of a goat, confess the sins of the people, and then allow the goat to escape into the wilderness, carrying away the sins of the people.
