Utopia is the name given to an ideal society or community Derived from the book titled Of the Best State of a Republic, and of the New Island Utopia (Sir Thomas More, 1516) Examples found in literature: Plato’s Republic, The Giver Dystopia is the antithesis of utopia; does not pretend to be utopian Often depicted as a world ravaged by war, strife, terror, etc. Examples found in literature: Nineteen Eighty-Four, A Clockwork Orange Utopia / Dystopia
