Family - Born to John and Elizabeth Barrow Dickens - seven siblings - married to Catherine Thompson Hogarth - Had ten sons and daughters: Charles Dickens Jr., Mary Dickens, Kate Perugini, Walter Landor Dickens, Francis Dickens, Alfred D'Orsay Tennyson Dickens, Sydney Smith Haldimand Dickens, Henry Fielding Dickens, Dora Annie Dickens, and Edward Dickens Catherine Thompson Hogarth

  4. Early Life - started working at age twelve - Only had fifteen years of formal schooling - Dickens' father had many debts that eventually put him in debtors' prison. The rest of the family is put there too, everyone except for Charles.

  5. Few of Dickens' Famous Works -A Tale of Two Cities (1859) -Oliver Twist (1839) -David Copperfield (1850) -The Christmas Carol (1843) -Great Expectations (1861)

  6. Additional Facts -Although Charles had ten children with his wife, he meets another woman named Nelly Ternan and develops a romantic relationship with her that lasted his whole life. - The Mystery of Edwin Drood was never completed.
