  3. Library Media Center Rules: • No food or drink in the library (bottled water is okay) • Do not sit on tables or backs of chairs • Do not put your feet on the tables • Be courteous to those around you • Speak quietly • If you need help with something, ask

  4. Library Media Center Rules: • When finished with your work, put the chairs back where you found them and clean up your work area • When entering the library, you must sign in at the counter (unless you are with your class)

  5. Computer Rules: • Do not share your password and do not log in as anyone else on any computer • No food or drink (including water) around the computers • When printing, make sure you only print what you need • Whenever possible, cut and paste the information you need into the Microsoft Word program in order to cut down on ink and paper

  6. Checkout Policies: • Library hours are from 7:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. • Books are checked out for 2 weeks at a time • If a book is not returned or renewed on time, it is considered overdue • You must return overdue books before checking out additional titles • Overdue books stay “on record” each year until they are returned or paid for • You must pay for all lost books in order to graduate

Finding Books in the Media Center: Books are divided into categories F stands for Fiction B or 92 stands for Biography REF stands for Reference Dewey #s stand for Nonfiction Underneath any of these, you will find the first three letters of the author’s last name (which makes up the call number for the book)

Using Destiny Quest (OPAC): • OPAC is the Online Public Access Catalog • It is a database of all the materials that we have here in the library • You can search by title, author, subject or keyword to find your materials • It will tell you whether or not the book is checked out, how many copies we have of the book, a summary, and the book’s call number.
