  1. Illiteracy in Africa By: Caleb Plumb and Zach Muhsin Specifically in Mali

  2. Education • Our long term goal is for the literacy rate to go up in Mali. • Right now the rate in Mali is 26.2%, that is a little over a quarter of all of the people in Mali.

  3. Why should you pick our cause? • You should choose to pick our cause because it is not just children that can not read, but it is also many adults that can not read. Could imagine not being able to read. • 1,112,659 children are out of school and the population is around 15 million.

  4. Our plan to get money for our organization • Our plan how to get money is to have dance like the student council. • And to sell some fundraisers.

  5. Local Organizations • One local organization that helps kids to get books is First Book. • Over time First Book has donated about 90 million books to children that can not afford them.

  6. How to support our cause globally • We will get organizations, like USAID, to promote our organization, and to try to give us donations. • We will also make a Facebook page and we would try to make it trending on Twitter.
