  1. Have a Safe and Happy Halloween Lindenwold’s Home and School Council “November News” 2004-2005 School Year We are looking forward to an exciting year as we welcome our new president and her officers. We hope to continue to provide the services you expect as well as develop more successful ways in which to support our teachers, parents, and students. We invite everyone to attend our meetings which are held on the 4th Tuesday of the month at the middle school. And we welcome all who want to join. It is only $5 for the year, and the fee can be sealed in the envelope which was sent home with your student. 2004-2005 Officers Dorena Kearney – President Marie Astor – Vice President Crystal Barrett – Secretary Tracie Gomolka - Treasurer Fundraising We’d like to thank everyone who participated in our fundraiser this month. Last year, with your help, we were able to help raise the money for new playground equipment for School #5. So this year our goal is to raise money for School #4, so they can enjoy a new playground also. So please continue to support us in our efforts by participating in our future fundraising projects. Congratulations to School #4 For passing the state test! And A warm welcome for Mr. Strong the new principal of Our Middle School! Be Aware The Lindenwold School Board will be discussing two very important bills in New Jersey and how they will affect the school district. These bills will place strict restrictions on our schools, one of the restriction is a cap on the school surplus which makes it difficult to finance emergency situations or new programs required by the state. This bill also has restrictions on “Hazardous Busing”. Due to this bill our schools might lose the ability to provide transportation as soon as next year. Parents you need to attend the Board Meeting on Monday, November 8, 2004 @ 8pm in the cafeteria at Lindenwold High School – learn what you can do. DK/lr
