  1. Re-creative Piece LO: to understand what is expected of you when undertaking the ‘Re-creative piece’; :To start preparing ideas for the ‘re-creative piece.’

Unit 2: Part B • A creative piece, enhancing the discussion in Part A ( no need for imitation of literary style) • 550 – 800 words • May be focused on one of the texts only or combine the two • In any genre and sub – genre, spoken or written • Should complement the theme with a credible viewpoint • For a listening or a reading audience • Could challenge the views and attitudes expressed in the texts; show understanding of context and the books as a whole • It needs to link to Part A

  3. Assessment of Coursework • Tasks are marked separately • Part A: maximum of 40 marks; all AOs but with varied weightings • Part B: maximum of 24 marks; AOs 1, 2 and 4, with varied weightings

So, you can... • Re-work the text in a different genre or for a different audience • You can expand on the original text by introducing relevant extra detail • You can use a combination of these. Task: In groups, brainstorm all the different GENRE possibilities that you could re-create to ‘challenge the writer’s view’ with ANY novel.

  5. The Tell-Tale Heart/cask of amontillado • Brainstorm all the TASK possibilities you could re-create it into. • Be quite detailed with what you could do with it.
