  1. Michael Dadoun: A Leader with Excellent People Skills and Deep Knowledge

  2. Modern organizations function in a highly competitive as well as an uncertain business environment. Companies, today, need leaders who possess the ability, intelligence, and charisma to motivate and enthuse workers to achieve the goals and objectives of the organization. • Michael Dadoun is the CEO of Montreal, Canada based payment processing firm UpClick. A highly charismatic and visionary leader, Michael has all the abilities that make people follow the leader out of their own free will.

  3. He has a vision, and more importantly, the ability to turn that vision into reality. A strong communicator, Michael presents the missions and objectives of the organization in a simple and lucid manner. His employees understand and believe in what he is saying and give their best for their organization. • Different leaders have different leadership styles and the organization they head is also vastly different. It is, therefore, the performance of the organization that becomes the barometer of their success or failure.

  4. Quality leaders add value to the organization and greatly add to its profit and the overall well-being of its employees. Michael Dadoun, the CEO of UpClick, has made his organization a force to reckon with in a very short period of time. • This is a firm that adequately understands the needs and requirements of its clients as well as its workforce. Due to this, people want to do business with this firm as well as work for it. • Quality leadership is important for an organization to achieve competitive advantage in the marketplace. In the following section, we shall look at some of the important qualities that are essential for a leader to succeed in a modern organizational set up.

  5. Leadership is About ‘We’ and Not ‘I’ • Leaders are not knights in shining armor who can do everything on their own by just a magic wave of their wand or hand. Leaders, who are foolish enough to believe that leadership is a solo act, condemn their organization to mediocrity and ultimately to a slow and painful demise.

  6. Organizations succeed, owing to the individual brilliance of their leader as well as the collective effort and endeavor of its workforce. Numerous studies have come to the same conclusion that the success and accomplishment of any organization was the result of dynamic participation and effort of its workforce. • Leaders like Michael Dadoun understand it completely and leave no stone unturned to accomplish the goals and missions of the organization by enlisting the help and cooperation of their subordinates.

  7. They understand that a leader is as good as the people they lead. It is, therefore, their constant endeavor to develop a workforce that can take few decisions on their own, and always be on the lookout for new and improved ways of doing things.

  8. Transactional Leadership v/s Transformational Leadership • Transactional leadership works on the principle of “give and take”. Employees are communicated about the work and behavior expected of them and are rewarded or punished accordingly. • It is a type of leadership that believes in maintaining the status-quo of the organization. There are pre-defined sets of rules and procedures and all the employees are required to adhere by it.

  9. A leadership exhibiting transactional leadership often keeps a close eye on the performance of the employees. They often take swift corrective action, if they notice any performance deviation. • Transformational leadership, on the other hand, is about promoting a culture in the organization that makes it easier for it to change its work culture and procedures in a way so as to better reflect the changing circumstances and market situations.

  10. Goals and objectives of the organizations are fulfilled by not solely relying on reward and punishment. Transformational leadership motivates employees by helping them see the bigger picture and working towards a common objective rather than just fulfillment of individual needs. • Such leaders believe in empowering their employees to make certain decisions on their own and develop strategies that will help the company in achieving its goals and objectives.

  11. Organizations, undergoing evolutionary change in early stages of development, require transactional type of leadership effectively and efficiently to manage that change. • However, in an increasingly dynamic and fast changing business environment where customers have become exceedingly fickle minded, transformational leadership is the need of the hour.

  12. Businesses need to swiftly respond to changes in the marketplace as well as the procedures and policies of its competitors. Leaders need to develop people who can think on their own and quickly respond to the changing marketing dynamics. • Transformational leaders develop flat structures to quicken the entire decision making process. This results in flexible workplaces where workers can quickly adapt to change.

  13. Michael Dadoun is a transformational leader. A charismatic and motivational leader, Michael has fostered an environment of innovation, team work, out-of-the-box thinking, and mutual cooperation in his organization. • Michael has the ability to see the big picture and possesses excellent visioning capabilities. A lifelong learner, Michael, has truly empowered his employees, which has resulted in a strong and motivated workforce.

  14. Thank You • Michael Dadoun
