NAVMED MPT&E Knowledge Management Program Just In Time Knowledge • Specialized e-learning content available to users on demand. • Intended to be supplemental to credit coursework that is part of a curriculum, continuing education requirements, or certification. • Used to reinforce training or concepts, provide an immediate solution, or help with skills tune-up. • Not a replacement for formal Training – targeted information.

NAVMED MPT&E Knowledge Management Program NAVMED MPT&EKMP - Communities of Practice • Communities of practice identify and close knowledge gaps, transfer successful practices, and develop and perfect state-of-the-art processes. • Act as stewards over a particular domain of knowledge, developing knowledge nuggets that can be accessed by others. • Play a critical role in creating trusted knowledge.

NAVMED MPT&E Knowledge Management Program NAVMED MPT&EKMP - Knowledge Base/Requirements • Identify and establish access to knowledge created and captured from internal or external sources, stored in various formats. • Must have carefully constructed knowledge artifacts that are kept up to date; powerful search engines, and carefully designed content format and classification structure. • Knowledge is not limited to a document repository. The content must be extracted from the document and reformed into a knowledge artifact that is immediately accessible and useful to the organization.
