Ground Systems - NOAA RTS Status • Transition to NOAA RTS’s occurred Apr 15, 2008 • Some minor outages first few weeks - now stable with better latency than USN • Fairbanks, Alaska, FBKS01 • Some (1-2) commands still being dropped, but NSPO resends next pass • 5m Malibu (FBKS02) backup ready in early September, until then use 26m as downlink backup • Wallops, Va, WALL01 • Uplink backup commanding for FBKS01 • Tromso, Norway, NORTG5 • Svalbard, Norway, NORSG4 • downlink backup, • Uplink backup commannding ended June 30 • McMurdo, Antarctica, NSF/NASA site, 6 passes/day • Pre-Operational test week July 14-20

  3. USN and NOAA COSMIC Data Latency USN NOAA

  4. Current Occultation Count

  5. COSMIC FM Status • FM1 • Nominal, Ant 00 problems • FM2 • 50% Power shortage since Feb 28, 2007 , reason unknown • Lost 1 of 2 solar arrays • GOX at 66% duty cycle • TIP and TBB off • FM3 • SAD anomaly Aug 3, 2007, reason unknown • SAD stuck at 60 deg • GOX at 50% duty cycle • TIP and TBB off • ~740 circular? km orbit, precessing wrt constellation • FM4 • Nominal • FM5 • Nominal, Ant 00 problems • FM6 • Nominal, Ant 00 problems • Occasional attitude problems • MIU - GOX/SSRPC data gaps require DOUBLE DUMPs

  6. GPS Occultation Payload Firmware Status • Build 4.5.2 Uploaded to All FM’s • Still issues with poor L2 tracking (~ 15%) • Sergey will soon tune L2 QC • Still issues with ‘closing loop’ with rising occultations • L2C Tracking turned on for FM1 • ~ 1 month of L2C occ data (PRNs 12, 17, 31) • Improved L2 penetration • Still some tracking issues for L2C • Sergey will test L2C OL tracking in Moscow this summer • JPL working issues

  7. CDAAC Status • Real-Time processing going well • Post-Processing ~2 months after real-time • COSMIC, CHAMP, GRACE (starting now), SAC-C (starting soon), GPS/MET (starting soon) • Re-Analysis Processing every year with consistent s/w • CDAAC => MDAAC, Multi-Mission RO Center • METOP, CNOFS, PROBA-2 • Public release of CDAAC software • Ionospheric Scientist position still open • Preparing for COSMIC WS in Oct in Taiwan
