  30. The Finnish Way • We have in Finland so called Materiel Policy Strategy published by our Ministry of Defence in the spring 2007. This strategy has many appendixes, appendix 2 is called Quality Strategy, according to this: • Our most important Suppliers must have system, who fulfils ISO 9001, AQAP 2110 and ISO 14001 requirements • Our own units, working with maintenance and/or service must have system who fulfils ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 requirements • Our own Materiel Commands (Army, Navy, Air Forces) must have a system who fulfils ISO 9001, AQAP 2110 and ISO 14001 requirements

QMS Certification • A study of ISO 9001 certified organizations • revealed that certification bodies often lack • process uniformity • The study included a field validation survey • and on-site assessment of certified organizations • The study indicates that effectiveness of • Certification Bodies varies very much (2,47-4,06) • The scope of the study: 10 Certification Bodies • and 112 certified units • Quality Progress December 2007 pages 52-58
