  1. School partnerships in Europe eTwinning is a framework for schools to collaborate on the Internet with partner schools in other European countries.

European Identity The general idea of the project is to enhance cooperation between students of about the same age from two different countries who will get in touch, become friends and exchange information about their hometowns, their countries and their everyday activities. Teachers of the two schools may cooperate and design parallel, motivating activities which will help students to promote European consciousness. We will try to identify the common characteristics of the European identity and open collaboration passages utilizing our diversity in a productive way.

  3. New Year’s Custom The pomegranate is a symbol of wealth, fertility and good luck. People break the pomegranate in the middle on the first day of the New Year. This custom, which is very old, was first showed up in a place of Greece called Peloponnesus. In this custom, the first morning of the year many people take the pomegranate in the church because they want the pomegranate to be blessed. When they come back at home, they break the pomegranate in front of their own house saying: I wish health, happiness, love and let each berry of the pomegranate bring so many euros in our pocket.   5. The Byzantine Walls of Thessaloniki’s Acropolis The Byzantine Walls were built by Kassandros in 315 BC. The Walls are making a square and surround the old City of Thessaloniki. The seaside section of the Walls had been destroyed by the Turks. The upper part of the Walls is the Acropolis and the fortress of Eptapyrgio. The main fortress were built by Theodosios the Great in 379-395 BC. In addition a part of the Wall is the White Tower.

  6. If you go shopping or if you are in the street on the way to work and feel a bit hungry, the famous ‘koulouri’ of Thessaloniki is always present in a corner sold by street merchants. Thannasis Konstantopoulos

  7. Mystery Postcard • This city is sitwated in the north of Spain. It is great, and verypretty!! There is an important museum called Guggenheim.It is great!! It is a very cosy city and it is not very expensive!! Tonight we are going to see a play in the famous Arriaga theatre. It's nice to walk near the river Nervion!!!!
