  2. ICTOpportunities • RESEARCH: Explore the world’s largest pool of knowledge and data. The internet provides amazing search opportunities – wider than your imagination • EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATION: Stay in touch without stress, remember birthdays. eMail, chat, SMS… Skype’s free VoIP calls, GMail’s 2GB of space, etc • TRANSGENERATIONAL IMPACT: Leave a legacy, contribute to global web content. Your personal website can help inspire another young person. Or start a web log (blog) • PERSONAL DEVELOPMENT: Maximize internet opportunities. School.ie, MIT OCW, etc, are examples of diverse high-end educational opportunities • GLOBAL PARTICIPATION AND RELEVANCE: There’s no better tool for global collaboration. Be omnipresent…

  3. Starting an ICT Club • Find out is there’s already an ICT/Computer Club. If there’s one, join and participate actively. Otherwise: • Speak with other students (various classes) with similar interest about your intention to start an ICT club • Draft a formal letter of your intention and make available to the teacher in charge of clubs and societies (copy the VP Admin) • Contact Paradigm Initiative Nigeria (LDV’s partner on this project) – info@pin.org.ng or seun.olajide@pin.org.ng to tell us of your interest and you can enjoy support from start-up to take-off • Give the teacher enough reason to prove that you are serious: a report of your participation at this meeting, a little essay on the role of ICTs for today’s youth, etc • Follow up with a call or eMail… And after you start…

  4. "We're in pre-school, and play with computer toys..." "My secondary school has an ICT club, and I'm a member..." "Our College of Education is starting an IT Club next session..." "I'm the new president of my Polytechnic's ICT Club..." "My university has many ICT-related group, such as the Electronic Club, IEE, NACOSS and IEEE..." "As a young professional, I am passionate about ICTs, and also volunteer at a local NGO..." We all have one thing in common: interest in ICTs. Don't deny yourself the opportunity for expression; join the platform of engagement, networking, inspiration and action. Learn more about, and join the Nigerian Youth ICT4D Network (NYIN)...
