Glossary of Terms • PearsonAccess – www.pearsonaccess.com/fl • A website used for almost all test preparation (e.g., PreID), setup, administration, and reporting tasks. • Correct test administration must be selected each time you log in. • Requires a username and password. • Links to support materials: www.FLAssessments.com/EOCwww.FLAssessments.com/AdditionalResources • PearsonAccess will timeout after 14 minutes of inactivity. Escambia School District, Florida

  4. Glossary of Terms • PearsonAccess Training Center • Accessed from the Training Center tab on PearsonAccess Home page. • Provides an opportunity to • Practice PearsonAccess tasks • Manage the Infrastructure Trial in preparation for testing • Requires a username and password. Escambia School District, Florida

  5. Glossary of Terms • Proctor Caching is a process of loading or “caching” test content locally on a computer at the school level. • Does not require a separate caching server and can run on any workstation on the network that meets minimum requirements. • Proctor Caching software is provided by Pearson. • Reduces test delays due to network congestion. • Provides students with a more seamless testing experience. • Requiredfor all FCAT/EOC computer-based testing in Florida. • Proctor Caching Network Diagram Escambia School District, Florida

  6. Glossary of Terms • TestNav 6.9 (TestNav) • Platform for Florida’s high-stakes computer-based statewide assessments. • Software application installed either on a file server or on each computer that will be used for testing. Note: This is the URL used for testing this Spring; it is different from the URL used for the Infrastructure Trial. Escambia School District, Florida

Pearson Support and PearsonAccess • Contact Pearson Support • Phone Number: 1-877-847-3043 • E-mail: Florida@support.pearson.com • Appendix C in the manual provides the following information: • PearsonAccess • User Accounts • FDOE distributed instructions for setting up user accounts to district assessment coordinators. • Browser requirements • Logging in for the first time • Resetting passwords • Training Center • Test Setup Exercise Escambia School District, Florida

  8. Spring 2011 EOC Test Administration Schedule • *Selected schools only • Districts have selected one week within the administration window(s) to administer the test(s). For security purposes, testing at a school should be completed in this one-week window if possible; however, up to two consecutive weeks will be allowed to accommodate computer-based testing needs. Districts may schedule one or more sessions per day, depending on school-level circumstances. Any deviation from this schedule requires written approval from the FDOE prior to implementation. Escambia School District, Florida

  9. What’s New for Spring 2011 • All EOC assessments are computer-based tests. • Paper-based accommodations (regular print, large print, braille, and one-item-per-page) are provided for Algebra 1 only. • Accommodated CBT forms (e.g., large print, color contrast, zoom, screen reader) will not be provided for this administration. • Administration accommodations (e.g., flexible setting, flexible scheduling) may be provided to eligible students participating in EOC assessments as specified on their IEPs, Section 504 plans, or ELL plans. All accommodations actually used must be recorded in PearsonAccess after testing. • The Algebra 1 EOC Assessment is administered in one 160-minute session with a scheduled break after 80 minutes. Additional time may be provided, if needed. Students may be permitted to leave after the scheduled 10-minute break. Testing must be completed within the same school day. • A CBT Test Administrator user role has been created in PearsonAccess to allow test administrators to resume computer-based tests. Districts/schools determine whether these accounts are created for test administrators. Escambia School District, Florida

  10. What’s New for Spring 2011 • Mathematics Work Folder is now called Florida Computer-Based Testing Work Folder. • Students are required to participate in a practice test at the school using the script provided in the CBT test administration manual. • Practice test is delivered using an ePAT (electronic practice assessment test). • ePAT is available for student to practice on their own. • After participating in a practice test for Algebra 1 or Biology 1, students can request an FCAT hand-held calculator to use on the day of testing. • Students can request a hand-held scientific calculator if the school/district elects to provide these to students. (The FDOE does not provide hand-held scientific calculators.) Escambia School District, Florida

  11. What’s New for Spring 2011 • Algebra 1/Geometry EOC Reference Sheet and the Periodic Table of the Elements are provided in the CBT platform, TestNav 6.9, for the applicable assessments. • Schools may provide hardcopy reference sheets or periodic tables to students. • Hardcopy reference sheets must be single-page, double-sided photocopies of the reference sheet that is in Appendix D of the EOC manual. • Hardcopy periodic tables must be one-page, single-sided photocopies of the periodic table that is in Appendix D of the EOC manual. • One proctor is required for every 25 students for computer-based testing. Escambia School District, Florida

  12. Reminders for Spring 2011 • Students may not have any electronic or recording devices at their desks, in their pockets, or anywhere they can reach them during testing, even if the devices are turned off or the students do not use them. • If a student is found to be in possession of ANY electronic device(s) during testing, his or her test must be invalidated in order to successfully enforce this policy. • Inappropriate actions by school or district personnel before, during, or after test administration may result in consequences including test invalidations and/or loss of teaching certification. • Carefully read the Test Security Policies and Procedures to ensure that you are following the correct procedures. • District assessment coordinators must require school administrators, school assessment coordinators, test administrators, and proctors to sign a Florida EOC Test Administration and Security Agreement. • Security of all test materials, including Student Authorization Tickets, must be maintained before, during, and after test administration. • Schools are required to maintain an accurate Security Log for each testing room. Escambia School District, Florida

  13. Reminders for Spring 2011 • FDOE encourages schools and districts to consider recycling manuals and other non-secure ancillary materials after scores have been reported. • Test administrators must NOT administer the EOC assessments to their family members. • If a student starts a test and leaves school without finishing (for an appointment, illness, etc.), he/she will NOT be allowed to complete the test. • Administration manuals must be provided to itinerant teachers in time for them to prepare. • Practice tests (ePATs) can be used at any time, up to the day before the test. • Forms and materials for EOC can be found at www.FLAssessments.com/EOC: • Test Irregularities/Security Breaches form and Missing Materials form • Training Materials • Comment Forms • Blank Administration Record/Security Checklist (for paper-based tests) • Security Log Escambia School District, Florida

Escambia School District, Florida

  30. Test Invalidation Policies and Procedures • Purpose of test invalidation is to identify when the validity of test results has been compromised. • Test administrators should discuss situations involving possible invalidation with the school assessment coordinator and the situation should be investigated immediately. • A test MUST be invalidated if any of the following circumstances occur: • A student has an electronic device during testing. • A student is cheating during testing. • A student is disruptive during testing. These situations should be investigated and discussed with the school assessment coordinator and site administrator before a final invalidation decision is made.

  31.
