  2. San Diego, August 2003 --Discussion Over Lunch Peter: We (at PRAGMA) have great technology in place, but need driving science applications Fang-Pang: Yes, but very remote. We should talk with Hen Biau King Tim: Gosh, we (in Wisconsin) have a great application (lakes metabolism studies), that could benefit from more technology Peter (surprised and guarded): Really? Well, Do you think there would be some interesting science by looking at a lake in Taiwan? Fang-Pang, Is there a lake in Taiwan of interest? … Peter: If we do find a good lake, would you be willing to go to Taiwan in October 2003 and have a look? Tim: Sure! Peter Thinks: Interesting! Tim Thinks: Interesting! Food and travel drive collaborations
