The Anchor Holds Hebrews 6:17-19 Wherein god, willing more abundantly to shew unto the heirs of promise the immutability of his counsel, confirmed it by an oath: 18 that by two immutable things, in which it was impossible for god to lie, we might have a strong consolation, who have fled for refuge to lay hold upon the hope set before us: 19 which hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and stedfast, and which entereth into that within the veil;

  3. AN.ABSOLUTE 68 And a born-again Christian is tied to Christ, and the Bible is the anchor. It's the thing we're tied to. Let organizations, science, educators say anything they want. As long as that Word says it and promise it, we are tied to That. There is something won't let us move from it. A real borned Christian, they stay with that Word. If It says a certain thing to do, and a way to do it, that's the way we must do it. No matter what anybody else says, That's what God said. We are tied to That, a Christ-centered life. 63-1201 The Anchor Holds

  4. CORINTHIANS.BOOK.OF.CORRECTION 19 And all did eat the same spiritual manna. What's he speaking of? The rituals of the church. People come to church and say they have repented and are baptized... Brother, it's a lot more than intellectuals… It goes to a genuine birth, not just a mental conception or emotional work, but a birth, an experience, something that goes plumb down deep into the heart and changes the innermost being… And when situations arise, it's your anchor. You don't have to wonder, "Will I make it?" Oh, no, it isn't whether I'll make it, it's already made for me. Christ in me has made it Himself. I just trust in His anchor alone. The Anchor Holds

  5. But the only way that we'll know that we're saved is when we've met God's conditions. You're never saved by your feelings; you're saved by your faith. You're always saved by faith. Your faith does it and then your life proves whether you received it or not. 19 God is obligated to His Word. You're obligated to your word. If you profess to be a Christian, you're obligated to live a Christian life. As long as you're going to church and professing to be a Christian, you're obligated. If you don't, then the people can't trust you. 56-1209 The Anchor Holds

  6. THE.GOD.WHO.IS.RICH.IN.MERCY 45 I'm only saying this, not to mix up doctrine, but to straightened it out, that we might get away from this fear and scare. You don't know who you are. You are not going to be, but now you are the sons of God. See, you always were the sons of God.   8. Question: GOD.MAKING.HIS.PROMISE 12 God is the sole Judge of who is Christian and who's not. And we can only judge ourselves as we weigh ourself in God's …Word and see how our life compares with His requirements, our desires towards that, our attitude towards what He has required us to do. So this came on my mind: Why did the people who had the Holy Spirit in their heart would drift away from God? But I've noticed that His Word, how that He always keeps His Word to the person. Now, if truly you have received Christ, then there's nothing can take that away from you. The Anchor Holds

  9. HEBREWS.CHAPTER.THREE 40 So, Paul had an experience. How many believes experience comes by conversion? Sure. If it hasn't, I would doubt the conversion. A conversion brings experience. And you can't lot it to anything now. Sometimes it might be shouting. Sometimes it might be speaking with tongues. Sometimes it might be weeping. Sometimes it might be groaning. You don't know what it is, so don't try to lot it. Because, every one of you has proved to be wrong in it, you Methodists, and you Baptists, and you Nazarenes, and Pentecostals. The Anchor Holds

I seen people speak with tongues like pouring peas on a dry cowhide, chew tobacco on other side of the mouth, and cut your throat if they could do it.   11. THE.BAPTISM.OF.THE.HOLY.SPIRIT 160 (Initial evidence) That's the reason we're not Pentecostal. We don't believe that the speaking with tongues makes you filled with the Holy Ghost, no more than we believe living in a barn would make you a pig, no more than we believe living in a king's palace would make you a king. You could be a servant... We believe that you receive the Holy Ghost by an experience, not by mythical intellectual conception of the Scriptures, but by an experience that you alone know. Now, if you want to know whether it was the Holy Ghost, watch how your life patterns after that; it'll tell what kind of a spirit come into you. 58-0928 The Anchor Holds

  16. THE.RESURRECTION 57 Sometime ago I was drinking from an old fountain where I used to go by, drink all the time. And it was always a bubble, bubble, constantly. I thought, "What makes you so happy a bubbling like that?” If he could speak, he'd say, "Bro. Branham, it's not me a bubbling. It's something behind me pushing me and making me bubble." And that is to every believer that's borned of the Spirit of God. There's Something behind him pushing him, bubbling up out of you, fountains of water, bubbling up unto Everlasting Life. That's what the whole church needs today is a good old fashion, fresh bubbling up. 53-1205 The Anchor Holds

He's whatever he is. But the first thing you know, there's no hold post in there. She'll say, "Hello." He's got curly hair, nice-looking, straight-shouldered young man; maybe tried to live right. She start walking up to him, even a preacher. The first thing you know... 172 What is it? This out here, the flesh desire; and the spirit down here, yet anointed, saying, "Don't do it, don't do it." But what will it do? The Anchor Holds

  19. It'll move right around, there hold, there it goes. First thing you know, he's trying to make a date with her. He is guilty of committing adultery, whether he touches her or not. You can't do it yourself. It's totally impossible for a red-blooded male to walk before a female like that, without something taking place. But when there is Something on the inside; that little born-again Something here! 174 Though that man might have shouted, spoke in tongues, jumped, danced, everything else, anointed with the Spirit; done all the signs and wonders that God said in there, by His Spirit! Jesus said, "Many will come to Me in that day, say, 'Lord, haven't I prophesied in Your Name…? 175 But down on the inside of that man, if that little tie post is in there, that Seed of God that was predestinated before the foundation of the world; I don't care what takes place, it holds him. It's there to stay. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new. II CORINTHIANS 5:17 The Anchor Holds

  21. CONVINCED.THEN.CONCERNED 36 Now, there's so many people say if you quiver, hold your eyes shut, and do all kinds of things and get sensations. You get spirits, friends, but if your life don't tally up to what you're professing, then there's something wrong with the spirit you got. You must be sure. The Holy Spirit will bring forth a holy life… If you have to force yourself constantly to try to press, do what's right, and the world's still hungering in you, then there's something wrong. See, the Holy Spirit in you will not hunger for the world; It'll hunger for God. The Anchor Holds

  22. If it's hard for you to go to church, and press yourself to come when the church is open, there's something wrong with that spirit. It's trying to keep you away from God. The Spirit of God will run you right straight to the church every time the door opens for fellowship. Yes, sir. So you've got to be sure of this now. The time is at hand. 62-0118 The Anchor Holds

  23. WHY 37 And you've heard the old expression, "I just can't keep from sinning. No one can keep from it. I've just got to smoke. I've just got to take a drink... I've got to do these things." You know why it is? Because they don't take God's remedy, His inoculation from it. God's got a balm that'll inoculate you. They’re afraid they'll do something unusual, they'll get out of the regular routine, afraid the church won't agree… afraid their neighbors won't agree. What do you care about your neighbors as long as God agrees? As long as your experience agrees with God's Word what about it? Stay with that. 60-1126 The Anchor Holds

  24. GOD.COMMISSIONING.MOSES 26 He said, "Oh, I thought I got the Holy Ghost when I believed." They still teach that, but it's wrong. Faith's all right… Abraham believed God, and it was imputed unto by-or for righteousness, but God give him the seal of circumcision as a seal of his faith. Brethren, when you got pure genuine faith in God, God will give you the baptism of the Holy Ghost as a seal of the promise, which is a seal, that you have faith. You might make some kind of an impression, you might say you got faith, but when you really got genuine unadulterated faith, God will give you the baptism of the Holy Ghost as a seal of the promise. 53-0508 The Anchor Holds

  27. ISRAEL.AND.THE.CHURCH.3 40 And you believe by faith, like Abraham did, and he was given the seal of circumcision for a confirmation of his faith. And you believe and accept Jesus as your Saviour, then God gives you the baptism of the Holy Ghost as a confirmation of your faith. You say you believe, and haven't received the Holy Spirit, something wrong with your faith. God circumcises the heart the minute the believer really comes in full surrender. Amen… Here it is now. When the believer firmly believes on the Lord Jesus Christ, God's under obligation to give him the Holy Ghost: confirmation of his faith. 53-0327 The Anchor Holds

  29. WHAT.IS.THE.ATTRACTION.ON.THE.MOUNTAIN 183 You, young man, you're a stranger; sitting right here in front of me, looking at me. What are you, Puerto Rican or something? I'm a stranger to you. You know that; you're not even from my country. But you believe that God can give you the desire of your heart? If I'll tell you what your desire is, will you receive it? You're seeking the baptism of the Holy Ghost. That is true. Receive the Holy Ghost, my brother. 65-0725 The Anchor Holds

  30. A.PARADOX 201 This is a noble thing this young woman stands here for. She straightly is a stranger. I've never seen the woman… And what brings her here, was because she heard a tape that I made. And she is here seeking the baptism of the Holy Ghost. That's exactly what she is here for. That is true, young lady. 202 Dear God, may this child standing here, that's breaking forth from darkness into Light, may she receive the Holy Spirit; go to her home and her loved ones, show them what great things Jesus has did for her. GOD'S.CHOSEN.PLACE.OF.WORSHIP 88 Notice, and when you are truly baptized into Him, the true evidence is that you believe Him, the Word. 65-0220 WHAT.SHALL.WE.DO.WITH.THIS.JESUS.CALLED.CHRIST 110 What is the evidence of It? When that spirit that's in you can punctuate every promise with an amen, and God will confirm it. That's exactly the way it was with Jesus Christ. Oh, yes. They had, they had more fruits of the spirit, they had all kinds of evidences. You can't pin any evidence down to anything but God Himself manifesting His Word. That's the only true evidence that there is that you're a Christian. 64-0126 The Anchor Holds

  32. BALM.IN.GILEAD 73 Let some man baptize you in Christian baptism. Then seek the baptism of the Holy Ghost. Now, that inoculates you from the very thing that condemned you tonight. You just pass on above it. See, inoculation keeps you from the disease. Inoculation of the Holy Spirit gives you power to overcome all the temptations of the world. 61-0218 The Anchor Holds

WITNESSES 19 No matter how much you go to church, how well your name is engraved on its stained windows, or on its book, it'll never mean nothing to you, until you are a witness of the resurrection of Jesus Christ by the infilling of the power of the Holy Spirit.   35. THE.BREACH 63-0317E 78-6 Another thing a seal signifies is ownership. When you are bought by the Blood of Jesus Christ and sealed by the Holy Ghost, you no longer belong to the world or anything pertaining to the world. You are owned by God. And another thing is: a seal is a security… a seal signifies security to its destination… And the Holy Spirit Seal cannot be broken. You all have heard me say that people said, "The devil made me do this." No, no, the devil didn't do it. You just wasn't sealed in, so then 'cause when you're sealed in, he's sealed out. Now, you went out to him. The Anchor Holds

  36. 79-2 He couldn't get into you, because the only way he'd get into you is come through the same process that you have. He'd have to be saved, sanctified, and filled with the Holy Ghost; then he'd be your brother. So, he didn't do it, no, no. You just went to the borderline and come back lusting for the things of the world. He never went all the way over into Canaan, across Jordan, the death to self. The Anchor Holds

  37. GOD.COMMISSIONING.MOSES 6 And when a man becomes born again of the Spirit of God, he becomes an offspring, or a son of God. And then he has the same type of mind that God does. The mind that in Christ is in us. And we believe for the unseen, for the miraculous, and just anything.   38. A.THINKING.MAN'S.FILTER Israel was all outwardly spiritually, all filled with God's goodness, and how they reverenced God, but that didn't work. The inside of them couldn't recognize the Word Itself. But when you're born of the Spirit of God... you are a son of God, and you always was a son of God, and you always will be a son of God. No way to separate it, because... you have Eternal Life. And Eternal never did begin; neither will it ever end. 65-0822 The Anchor Holds

  39. JESUS.CHRIST.SAME 8 A million years before there was a world, He knew we'd set right here tonight. So we believe that this Bible, is the Word of God, and, therefore, you can hang your soul upon any phase of It. That's the only way you can have faith... See, you have Eternal Life, there's only one form of it, that's God. You were His attribute, He thought of you and knowed you before the foundation of the world, in His mind. She looked around. Look what a sinful shape she was in. He couldn't get that priest, because the priest was an educated scholar, a theologian in the Word, but no representation in Heaven, wasn't in God's thinking at all. But this woman was.   42. THE.IDENTIFIED.CHRIST.OF.ALL.AGES The Pharisees, that had a little bit of light. They was good people, lived a good religious life, had a little light about them. They had organized, and a priesthood. They had a little light. But down in the bottom of their heart, they had no Eternal representation in Glory. So when they seen that supernatural done, they said, "This man is Beelzebub, a devil." And what happened? That put what light they had out. 64-0401 The Anchor Holds

  43. THE.EASTER.SEAL There's only one Life, one Eternal Spirit, one Eternal Life, and that's God. God, alone, is the Eternal. And then we, being His children, are part of Him, that is, the attributes of His thinking… That's the reason we have Eternal Life. In the same principle that the great Son of God, the Redeemer; we become sons and daughters of God, through that same Spirit, by the same foreknowledge of God. 65-0410 The Anchor Holds

  44. JAIRUS.A.SECRET.BELIEVER 10 Now, faith has to have a basis. You just can't let faith be loose and wild. Faith has to rest itself, not upon the shifting sands of man's reasoning. Faith is based on the solid Rock of God's Word. Faith rests right on God's Word. If the Lord has said so, then that settles it. Men how sometimes they can explain anything so real and paint the picture so real, but yet faith will never look at that if God's Word is contrary to it.   45. TIME.TESTED.MEMORIALS.OF.GOD …I know that old time God, heartfelt salvation will hold. The reputation of Christ is at it. He will not give us just something to build a church out of… or build some seminary to educate preachers. The real preacher comes from the seminary of God's grace, God's calling. And it's time-tested. It'll hold. God's got confidence in you. We got confidence in Him… We don't know what's a holding, but something's holding. She's anchored yonder in the haven. The Anchor Holds

  46. And there's a rope of salvation that holds the human heart, that a man's that's ever been borned again is passed from death unto Life, all the devils out of hell couldn't make him doubt it. There's something holds within there. Let her rock. Let her shake. Amen. She'll hold every time, because it's in Christ Jesus. 57-0818 The Anchor Holds
