  2. Quick Write: Write down an example of both direct and indirect characterization from the “Richard Parker” Voki (created by Bobby Moore). You can pick up your snack when you turn in your quick write!

  3. Types of imagery • Visual – a picture you see in your mind • Auditory – a vivid description of a sound • Kinesthetic – a description of a physical feeling • Olfactory – a sound or taste

  4. Choose one of the images • Jot down three adjectives that you see, hear, feel or taste as a result of this imagery. • Be very specific in your word choice – use a thesaurus • Bring this image to life in a drawing. Your drawing should include the quote, page number and the three adjectives you attributed to the imagery. …for example

  5. *peaceful *whimsical *serene “…looking up at sloths in repose, I felt I was in the presence of upside-down yogis deep in meditation or hermits deep in prayer, wise beings whose intense imaginative lives were beyond the reach of my scientific probing” (5).
