Possible Alternative Policy • The first alternative policy is to close the library on Mondays so that it can be opened on Saturdays. • One advantage is that the library will be open for the same amount of hours so that it will save energy. • However, a disadvantage is that the programs that are now on Mondays will have to be cut. • The people that visit the library on Monday and use the programs that are offered will be angered by this and maybe will never use the library again.

  3. Another Possible Alternative Policy • Another policy is to get rid of some unneeded programs that go on during the week and open the library on Saturday. • An advantage of this, is that we will save money by cutting the programs and then we will be able to put it towards opening the library on Saturdays. • However, a disadvantage is that people who attended those programs may be angry. • A consequence of cutting programs is that the people who use those programs may get angry and stop utilizing the library.

  4. One More Alternative Policy • The last alternative policy is to leave the library hours the way they are. • One advantage is that we do not have to worry about paying for the library to be open. • But a disadvantage, is that people who need the library and can only get there on the weekends wouldn’t be able to use it. • It may be controversial because students that play sports after school could be considered discriminated against because they cannot possibly get to the library during the week.
