  2. 1917 1915 1914 1918 1916 Italy declares war on Germany and Austria and entered the war on May 23 June 28 - Archduke Franz Ferdinand was assassinated by a member of the Black Fist April 6 - America declares war on Germany June 28 1918 the war ends InJune of 1917 America sent AEF troops to fight in France On December 25 at 2:00, Christmas Day, The British armies came to a truce with the German soldiers that they would cease fire. The two opposing sides joined together that night to sing, drink, and to play games such as football (soccer). This truce lasted for two days until the 26 of December. December 5 - Armistice between Germany and Russia signed

  3. World War 1 Christmas Truce On December 25, at 2:00 Christmas Eve (Christmas Day), British officers approached the German fronts through no mans land. They met with the German officials and came to a truce. They would ceasefire for Christmas so that they could celebrate.

  4. During the truce the British and the Germans celebrated by drinking a lot of beer, wine, and other alcohol that was available to them. The Germans and the British exchanged what little possessions they had as their gift. These gift included little things like cigars, bottles of vodka, and precious military medals.

  5. Many people believe that the events of the Christmas Truce never did happen because they weren’t recorded as an official ceasefire. But many of the military personnel that took part in these events along with pictures and newsletters can say other wise.
