Objectives of the Integrated ID Card System Integrations of ID Cards • Improved user convenience (multiple → single application) • Simpler and less demanding ID card issue management Integrated ID Card (Approx. 50,000 cards) NAA, Customs & Immigration issued 120,000 cards, 42 types Security Improvements • Prevention of counterfeit ID cards • Sure access control at key facilities (used with biometrics) • Reliable data management through database integration (prevents identity theft)

  5. 4.Biometric Device Selection The study committee on the use of IC chip and integration of ID cards decided to adopt facial contour recognition technologies.

  6. 5-1.Personnel ID Card (High Security Area in Zone A) ■ Entrance to High Security Facilities 【Stringent biometric ID inspection】 (1) Scan ID card using read-write scanner (2) Undergo biometric ID inspection (3) Once verification is correctly completed, the electronic lock is released and the employee is allowed to enter Relevant Facilities ・ VFR Room (CAB) ・ IFR Room (CAB) ・ Ramp Control Tower ・ Ramp East Tower

  7. 5-2.Personnel ID Card (Security Area in Zone A) ■ Entrance to Important Facilities【ID inspection using personal ID number】 (2) Undergo ID inspection by entering personal ID number (1) Scan ID card using read-write scanner (3) Once identity is verified, the electronic lock is released and the employee is allowed to enter Relevant Facilities ・ Terminal airside (staff corridors, delivery gates) ・ Swing gates etc. ・ Important equipment rooms (Air traffic control, navigation aids, communications network facilities, etc.)

  8. 5-3.Personnel ID Card (Standard area in Zone B) ■ Entrance to Standard Facilities (2) Once identity is verified, the electronic lock is released and the employee is allowed to enter (1) Scan ID card using read-write scanner Security personnel checks card and ID Relevant Facilities ・ Telecommunications Center, Airport Admin. Bldg., NAA Bldg. No. 2 etc. ・ Standard equipment rooms (not including high security & secure rooms)

  9. 5-4.Personnel and Vehicle ID Card (Airside) ■Entrance to Airside (2) Security guard checks ID cards of the vehicle, driver and all passengers. (1) Vehicle stops at the gate. Vehicle Close Proximity IC Card Potable WiFi Card Reader & Writer (3) Check all ID cards using hand-held terminal. (4) Gate opened and vehicle allowed to enter IC Card IC Card Personnel IC Card Vehicle IC Card
