  3. SHRM has added a new course to its curriculum of Diversity & Inclusion Seminars Global Cultural Competence for Business Leaders was piloted at SHRM HQ in December The course is aimed at anyone who works across national borders to achieve organizational success.

  4. A new DVD, “Charting Your Path to Success,” is available at the SHRM Store The video features Dr. Shirley Davis and Eric Peterson of SHRM The video is intended for new and emerging Diversity & Inclusion practitioners

In 2011, SHRM began a successful partnership with the Families & Work Institute (FWI) By combining FWI’s content expertise with SHRM’s reach and influence, both organizations hope to make a real impact on the way employers approach Workplace Flexibility A new Work/Life Conference debuted in November, 2011 SHRM/FWI was recently awarded a Sloan grant worth $985,000 to continue this important work.

  6. The 2011 Diversity & Inclusion Conference focused on “Game Changers.” The conference featured two concurrent session blocks, devoted to innovative thinkers who have fundamentally altered the way that Diversity & Inclusion is practiced. “Game Changers” represented the US Military, research institutions, and Harpo Studios.

SHRM’s Diversity & Inclusion Standards Taskforce is writing the first-ever D&I Standards • Standards In Progress: • Diversity Program Standard • Top Diversity Professional Standard • Diversity Metrics Standard SHRM is the only organization licensed to create ANSI-certified standards in HR and Diversity These standards will, for the first time, define minimally effective D&I practices for organizations across the country It’s very likely that some/all of these standards will move on to ISO, the International Standards Organization

In 2012, SHRM’s Speakers’ Bureau will debut two new D&I-themed keynotes “Charting Your Path to Success” (based on the DVD presentation) will detail what D&I practitioners need to know (and do) in today’s organizational landscape “Workplace Flexibility: The Next Imperative for Business Success and HR Leadership” details both why and how organizations embrace a new way of working that serves both employers and a 21st Century workforce

SHRM Diversity & Inclusion Strategic Leadership Program (15 Strategic Recertification Hours) The Diversity Practitioner of the 21st Century (7.5 Strategic Recertification Hours) Global Cultural Competence for Business Leaders (7.5 International Recertification Hours) Any of our keynote speeches

  11. SHRM continues to place an emphasis on D&I issues of critical importance to today’s workforce Workplace Flexibility Veterans’ Employment Global Cultural Competence

SHRM’s 2012 Diversity Conference will be held in Chicago from Oct. 22 through 24 Efforts are underway to create specific networking and educational opportunities for members of the Diversity Core Leadership Area As always, the conference will provide insights and inspiration to those in the D&I field

In 2012, the Diversity & Inclusion Standards now being written will open to public review Anyone interested in the content of the Standards may comment on the final drafts Every comment received must be responded to, according to ANSI guidelines SHRM is counting on its members, particularly the Diversity Core Leadership Area, to participate in this important step of the process When public review begins, more information will be made available re: where/how to comment
