Activities of Systems Council • In existence for nearly 3 years • Sponsor of IEEE International Systems Conference • 2007 operated at a loss • 2008 operated at a small profit (20K) • 2009 to take place 23-26 March in Vancouver, B • Four meetings held this year • Louisville, Montreal, Denver, and Ft. Lauderdale

  4. Activities of Systems Council • Louisville • Re-grounded the Systems Council • Introduced concept and discussed format of SoS conference • Montreal • Primarily an after-action review of IEEE Systems Conference • Further discussion of concept and format of new conference

  5. Activities of Systems Council • Denver • Developed realizable concepts for SoS conference • Voted on 6 candidate topics – Healthcare was voted strongest candidate with target of Nov 2010 • Announcement that Paul Gartz would step down as President and would be replaced according to charter

Lauderdale • Clyde Chittester appointed President • Further fleshed out SoS conference • Covered detailed financial and organizational status of Systems Council • Reported TAB review of Systems Council • Planned for Dec. as target for first planning committee meeting for the new conference • Chicago meeting delayed to “further refine concept”

Actions Assigned to Society Representatives • Asked for representatives to the SoS Planning Committee • Pradeep Ray has accepted that position pending successful application for ComSoc sponsorship • Offer made to member Societies to have member as conference treasurer • Present IEEE Systems Journal as an option for member renewals • Participation in making information available for SysC Knowledge Engineering Environment web site
