  14. Don’t confuse with “day of Christ” • 2 Thess 2:2 • Relates wholly to the blessing and reward of His saints. • Expectation of the church • Her translation (rapture) • Her glorification • Examination for reward

Extent of the Tribulation • The Seal judgments takes peace from the world, and men begin to kill each other (Rev 6:8) .. ¼ of earth’s population killed • 6thTrumpet … alone provides for the destruction of 1/3 of world’s population (Rev. 9:13-21) • WITH THE COMPLETION OF THE TRUMPET JUDGMENTS… OVER HALF THE WORLD’S POPULATION IS DEAD - The Bowl judgments are even more severe.

  17. Primary Purpose of Tribulation • Bring a multitude (millions) of Jews to the Savior • Who will enter into the blessings of the Kingdom • Experience the fulfillment of all Israel’s covenants. According to Matt 24:14 “The return of the Messiah (Christ) will be preached” … so that Israel may be returned to their Deliverer. • Secondary purpose is to pour out judgment on unbelieving man and nations (Rev 3:10)

  18. Judgment will bring uncountablenumber to the LORD • Read Rev 7: 4-17 • “a great multitude which no one could number…. • From all tribes(ethnic groups), nations, tongues, peoples……. Standing before the throne, clothed in white robes…

Burning like an oven • What does that mean? • Probably nuclear explosions… • “BURNING LIKE AN OVEN, AND ALL THE PROUD, YES, ALL WHO DO WICKEDLY WILL BE STUBBLE, AND THE DAY THAT IS COMING SHALL BURN THEM UP” MAL. 4:1 • “THIS WILL LEAVE THEM NEITHER ROOT NOR BRANCH” MAL. 4:1 The destruction will be TOTAL(TREE ROOTS NORMALLY PROTECTED IN FIRES) • FIRE WILL BE THE AGENT OF DESTRUCTION IN THAT DAY, AS WAS WATER IN THE DAYS OF NOAH

  20. IN SPITE OF BELIEVERS WICKEDNESSGOD’S GRACE INTERVENES • “BUT TO YOU WHO FEAR MY NAME” 4: 2 • DO we in Friends of Faith FEAR HIM? DO YOU PROSTRATE YOURSELF BEFORE HIM?… OR ARE YOU TOO PROUD? • TRUE REPENTANCE IS SEEING YOURSELF AS GOD SEE’S YOU… TOTALLY DEPRAVED/HELPLESS AND HOPELESS ..   21. “THE SUN OF RIGHTEOUSNESS SHALL ARISE” 4:2 • INSTEAD OF THE FIRE OF JUDGMENT…. • THE SUN’S WARMTH is felt WITH HEALING IN THE SUNBEAMS…. (“ IN HIS WINGS”) .. speed • HE WHO IS AN OVEN TO THE WICKED, IS LIKE THE SUN TO THE RIGHTEOUS. (Remember the pillar of fire in the desert… same pillar provided protection to the Jews… and darkness and judgment to the Egyptians) • “there is spiritual healing in this Sun, for just as the rays of the physical sun give light and heat for the growth of plant and animal life, so the Sun of righteousness will heal the wounds inflicted upon and borne by the righteous.” Dr. C.   22. “AND YOU SHALL GO OUT AND LEAP LIKE CALVES FROM THE STALL” • “Calves that have been constrained/restricted and put down for the winter… shall leap and jump….” • Do you think the Rapture is going to be a quiet subdued affair? NO. One of rejoicing/shouting/praising dancing/leaping/releasing ultimate joy.. a football game is not even close.

  23. “THEN YOU WILL TRAMPLE DOWN THE WICKED, THEY WILL BE ASHES UNDER THE SOLES OF YOUR FEET ON THE DAY WHEN I DO THESE THINGS” 4:3 • As we will return with HIM to earth…. (I would assume this statement can be taken literally also.) • We will celebrate HIS VICTORY in joy by trampling down (WALKING ON) the ashes of the wicked… CHRIST HAS WON…. • P.s. Get on your riding boots… Rev. 20:11 “And I saw heaven standing open and there before me was a white horse, whose rider is called Faithful and True…. The host of heaven were following Him, riding on white horses and dressed in fine linen…”
