  2. Blacktop Lineup Procedures • Line up at our area on blacktop • Line up behind the person in front of you, not next to them • Face forward with no talking • Keep your hands and feet to your self • Walk to class when excused in a quiet line

  3. Lining upPracticing self controlYou Can Do IT • Line up on your class number • Keep your hands and feet to yourself • Do not lean against the wall • No talking………..This is your moment to take a deep breath and relax before going into class

  4. Morning Procedures • Enter the class quietly and begin your day with out socializing • Put down your chair… carefully • Get out your homework/phones so it can be checked/collected • Put any make up work or notes for Mrs. Kalmar on her corner desk. • Begin the morning activity.. Spiral Math, idiom and vocab of the day, daily reading, Accelerated Math

Expectations I expect you to: • Work to your full potential • Do your best work • Turn in all assignments on time • Use your time wisely • Complete your work in a timely manner • Follow all class and school rules • Follow the procedures • Be willing to take a risk • Grow as a learner • Enjoy 6thgrade

  6. Tardies • Be on time. School starts at 8:00 • You are allowed 3 excused tardies per trimester • If you have an unexcused tardies you will sign your yellow card • All tardies after your 3 excused will be a yellow card signing

  7. Yellow Card • The yellow card is our reward program for making good choices in behavior and study habits • Your yellow card is to be kept in your pencil box • Your yellow card is not to be taken home • Lost yellow cards will result in an “F” • To earn incentive you need a 3.3

  8. Why would I sign my Yellow Card? • Forgetting homework assignments • Not turning classwork in on time • Not following directions • Not using your time wisely • Not following the procedures • Breaking class rules • Breaking school rules • Crying…unless you are injured, we don’t cry in 6th grade

  16. Turning in Work

  17. All work goes in the paper trays at the side of the room Put the papers in the correct subject tray; what tray will be decided by the first person to turn a paper in Put papers in facing up Put papers in the tray with the top towards the left side of the tray DO NOT turn papers in on Mrs. Kalmar’s desk Put all items for Mrs. Kalmar on the BIG desk.

  18. TransitionsTick, Tick, Tick… time’s a wasting Moving from one activity to another • Directions • 1 2 3 • No Talking • The key to a quiet and quick transition is no talking. Transitions are not a time for talking to your neighbor

  19. Pencils

  20. Pencils may only be sharpened during work periods Wait until after Mrs. Kalmar is done with the lesson before sharpening your pencil Sharpening pencils is a non talking activity You do not need permission to sharpen your pencil during your work time Extra pencils can be bought with society money from Mrs. Kalmar

  21. Hand held pencil sharpeners must have a top. Hand held pencil sharpeners can only be emptied during your work time not during instruction. No pencil shavings are to be on the floor or desk. Clean up any pencil shavings. Breaking the rules will result in the loss of the privilege Use Mechanical! They don’t need sharpening!

  22. Drinks and Restroom

Please use the restroom and get a drink at recess You may bring a small water bottle to class Please do not bring cold or frozen water bottles No drinking water during instruction Let’s talk about noisy bottles  They can result in the loss of the privilege Recycle bottles No student will be denied the use of the restroom, however, drinks and restroom visits during class will be assessed a fee

Waking in LinePracticing self control the sequel • Line up quietly in two lines • We walk quietly to assemblies, library and Computer Lab • We line up in 2 lines for lunch; buyers and bringers • We walk in silence so we do not disturb others • We keep our hands and feet to ourselves • We walk behind the person in front of us, not next to them. There is no double parking.

Put all your work away neatly and in the correct place Return all materials to their correct place Be sure everything you need is in your back pack Be sure your desk is neat, inside and on top Carefully put up your chair Pick up all trash around your desk Hold your backpack I your hand, do not put it on your back Stand by your desk quietly until excused
