  6. Beneficiary Testimonials Grace Essien from Adang Itam said, “I received N5,000 from CUBS and used it for short-time farming. Today I am better off. Also, I mobilized other women to join me to form a savings group which loans money to members, and we are happy to generate our own income to take care of our children.” Ime Marshal from Minya Ntak said, “I used to be a borrower but today, I am a lender to any, following the household economic trengthening training I received from CUBS. In our group, we are very happy with the CUBS project.”

Key Lessons • Strong advocacy led by the CUBS team was fruitful and brought together all relevant stakeholders. • The beneficiaries were very excited about CUBS and are ready to continue on their own when CUBS expires. • HES was an excellent approach as it promoted community ownership of the project. • Male caregivers were also involved and are excited about the project. More of them should be encouraged to join the groups. • Savings group formation should be further explored as this will sustain the groups and the project. • Coaching and mentoring approaches motivated the caregivers to do even better.
