SAS . The Company. History. The SAS, or once known as Statistical Analysis System ,program began its journey in the early 1970’s, and its institute, was created in 1976. It was started to analyze agricultural data but now analyzes future info for multiple businesses all over the world.

  2. History • The SAS, or once known as Statistical Analysis System ,program began its journey in the early 1970’s, and its institute, was created in 1976. It was started to analyze agricultural data but now analyzes future info for multiple businesses all over the world. • Its developers , Jim Goodnight and John Sall, were bombarded by demand which is why the company now has partners all over the world.

  3. Milestones • 1976- The SAS program is released. • 1978- The company has 600 customer. • 1985- Partnership with Hewlett Packard is established. • 1989- Releases consulting services • 1990-The Partnership with Intel is released. • 1997- Worldwide employee number reaches 5,000. • 1999- SAS revenue surpasses $1 billion. • 2009-SAS achieves record revenue, at 2.26 billion

Information • At more than 11,000 employees, SAS is the leader in business analytics software and services. • Its also the largest vendor in the business intelligence market. • This company makes a huge influence on companies that attain this program, because what this company does is makes statistically intelligent estimates for companies about their product(s).

  5. Employees • Jim Goodnight, CEO of SAS cares deeply for his employees. • Before he started his company he made himself a promise that he would care for his employees unlike any other company, and he does. • Some of the employee benefits are, domestic partner benefits, company paid vacation, and even a college scholarship program for the children of SAS employees.

Understanding • People may not understand the importance of this c0mpany because although you may not hear of it in public or on TV or possibly even in a company itself, but that doesn’t mean that isn't in a company. • Shockingly enough, its in more places than we kn0w of, they just keep it “under the radar” for privacy and competitive purposes. • So just think of how many companies could and/or probably do use this software… ?
