  1. Final Odyssey Assignments Pick 3!

  2. Geography • Using the school map as a template, assume you are Odysseus create a map showing where Ithaca is and the various other locations of his travels.

  3. Art • Penelope weaved a tapestry to delay choosing among her suitors. Create a piece of artwork showing what you think she wove (can be 2D or 3D).

  4. English • Find and clip out a marriage announcement from the newspaper. Then create an announcement for Penelope and Antinous (written by Antinous).

  5. P.E. • Outline an exercise routine for Odysseus and his men to do while on the boat.

  6. Foods • Create a one week menu for Odysseus and his men. Bear in mind the locations they’re in and what they are continually raiding.

  7. History • In poem format, write a poem that tells the story of how Odysseus avoids the sirens.

  8. Technology • Create a powerpoint explaining at least 5 areas that Odysseus travelled to.

  9. Music • Find a symphonic rendition of one of the scenes from The Odyssey to play for the class.

  10. Science • Create a graph or use a map of currents to show how a whirlpool could be created in the ocean.

  11. Drama • Memorize and present 10 lines from the Odyssey or choose a section of the Odyssey and create your own dialogue between you and a friend that represents that section of the Odyssey (must be memorized).

  12. Foreign Language • In a two paragraph essay, explain how Odysseus could have communicated with people from different countries and explain how dialect influences communication.
