  4. It is an ITU Development Sector initiative intended to assist developing countries by making available ICT education and training opportunities at the highest possible levels of quality. In cooperation with numerous partners, ITU Academy today delivers education and training opportunities around the globe through face-to-face events and distance learning

Broadband Networks 13-15 April 2010 With cooperation with Telecom Egypt In frame of New Technologies and Services Programme CoE/ARB • The workshop will identify : • technologies that are trend setting for broadband based applications. • will identify technology requirements for broadband infrastructure and devices and provide an understanding of the trends and needs that facilitate growth in broadband applications and devices. • will provide an overview of current advancement in broadband technologies that include 4G, fixed and wireless technologies. It will discuss the Identity management landscape and the latest standardization effort in this area.

Broadband needs to be considered as basic national infrastructure, as it will fundamentally reshape the world in the 21st century and change the way services are delivered. • Broadband is the most powerful tool ever devised to drive social and economic development, and accelerate progress towards the Millennium Development Goals.
