IPv6 Stateless Address Autoconfiguration • During system startup, generating a link-local address (FE80:: ), this will be a “tentative” address • Verify the “tentative” address by using Duplicate Address (DAD) and then join the all-nodes multicast group(FF02::1)to send NS and join the solicited-node multicast group (FF02:0:0:0:0:1:FF00::/104) to wait for NA • If host hasn’t receive the NA, then it is unique • Assign the “tentative” address to the interface Confidential
